Read the announcement on Facebook“Data Dialogues: Fireside Chat with Globe Enterprise Data Professionals” was held on January 27, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. It was a collaboration between Globe Enterprise Data and Strategic Services (EDS) and the UP Data Science Society, with support from the Computational Science Research Center (CSRC). It opened the Data Dialogues series, which continued in March with an overview of data management and governance and in May with “Make it Make Sense”, a webinar on data visualization.
The format was a fireside chat: three Globe data scientists talked about their work and took questions from the audience on trends, challenges, and opportunities in data science. The announcement framed it as a chance to hear from working professionals and to meet other students interested in the field.
Format
The event ran in two modes. The on-site option was at Lab 4, Computational Science Research Center, UP Diliman, with registration at the door. Slots were limited and this option was open only to UP students and UP DSSoc members. Everyone else could register online through a form, and the session was livestreamed on the society’s Facebook page.
