Unlock data's power: a data management and governance overview

“Unlock Data’s Power: A Data Management and Governance Overview” was an online session held on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Zoom, with a livestream on the UP Data Science Society Facebook page. It was the second talk in Data Dialogues, the 2025 series the society ran with Globe, and the speakers were data professionals from Globe Enterprise.

The session was an introduction to data management and governance: how an organization keeps control of its data, and how governance practices let it get more out of that data. Registration was through a Google Form, and the announcement especially encouraged graduating students to sign up.

The Data Dialogues series

The first Data Dialogues talk, announced in January 2025, was a fireside chat with Globe Enterprise data professionals, held on-site at Lab 4, Computational Science Research Center, UP Diliman, for UP students and UP DSSoc members, and online for everyone else. Its speakers were Reb Paralleon, Alfonso Kan, and Andre Abellon of Globe. The third talk, in May 2025, was “Make it Make Sense”, a webinar on data visualization with Kay-Ven Ralph Jao, Globe’s Data Visualization Manager.
