The Philippine Junior Data Science Challenge (PJDSC) is the UP Data Science Society’s flagship competition, held every year since 2021. It is open to senior high school students, undergraduates from any course and any university, and graduates within two years of finishing their degree. Each edition pairs talks and workshops with a data science project proposal competition, so teams first learn the tools and then apply them to a problem the country actually faces.

The 2025 theme was “Weathering the Storm: Uncovering Climate Solutions for Atmospheric Resilience.” Teams worked with climate and weather data to propose early warning systems, adaptation plans, and other evidence-based solutions for Filipino communities.
