Timeline
Pre-registration and the schedule were announced on August 2, 2023. Workshop 1 followed on August 21, 2023, with over 200 attendees, and the livestream recording was posted afterwards. The competition then ran for about three months across four challenges that tested data science concepts, data segmentation, interpretation and recommendation, artificial intelligence integration, and narrative presentation. Of the 160 teams that entered, 50 remained after the first challenge, and the Top 15 were announced on October 25, 2023. The final challenge trimmed the field to three teams, who presented at the BPI Data Wave Summit 2023 at One Esplanade, Pasay City, on November 6, 2023, where BPI executives handed out the prizes. The organizers thanked the UP Data Science Society team and volunteers on December 2, 2023.
