Introduction to Wolfram: AI tools for data science

“Introduction to Wolfram: AI Tools for Data Science” was an online info session held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM over Zoom. The UP Data Science Society ran it with Philippine Consortium Inc., the sole distributor and reseller of academic software in the Philippines. The event was free and open to the general public, with registration through a form link.

The session introduced the Wolfram tools and how they can make data science work easier: what the platform offers, and where its AI features fit in a student’s workflow. It was the first of two Wolfram events the society held in 2025. The second, “Workshop 2: Wolfram for Data Science”, followed in September with a hands-on look at machine learning, statistics, and dashboards in the Wolfram Language.

Speakers

Dr. Nicamil Sanchez is the CEO of Philconsortium Inc. He is known for his work in gerontology, social work, technology management, and artificial intelligence, with contributions both in the Philippines and abroad.

Yuli Stait-Gardner is an International Business Development Executive at Wolfram Research. She oversees Wolfram users across the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, and her talk covered the applications of the different Wolfram technologies.
